I LOVE THE BEACH!

My absolute favorite thing growing up was going to the beach for a week every summer.  It was a tradition that was started before I was born and continued until I left home for college.  Andy and I decided that going to the beach was a tradition we wanted to carry on with our kids.  I love that my kids will have the same memories of the beach as I did.  I loved being able to watch them through a mother's eyes as they enjoyed every moment.  It took me back to my childhood as I watched Braden stand on the shore and jump the waves or Taylor as she ran away as the wave approached the shore trying not to get her feet wet.  Maybe all of their memories will be  remembered the same as mine.   I'm so glad the tradition we have started will include memories of their cousins.  Braden's first prayer after we got home was, "Bless us that we can go to the beach for my birthday and see Brad."  You see, that is the same prayer he said before we left.  I don't think the summers will come soon enough each year for our annual trip to the beach.   I love that my kids LOVE their cousins and that their memories of the beach will include them.
So here are the pictures from our week.  (Click on them to see them full size.  Especially for the last 2 of the dolphins.)  You know you had a great vacation when you take 150 pictures and you love them all.  (I think I will make a slideshow so I can share more of them.)  We did the same thing everyday... Relaxed, played, and enjoyed the beautiful weather, the sounds,  and the smells of the beach.  I never knew monotony could be so wonderful.  I miss it already.

I know it doesn't look like it but Braden really wanted to go!
Braden already misses you, Brad!

Jumping the waves
Braden celebrated his 5th Birthday at the beach
Taylor waiting for the wave to come...
so she could RUN!

Ella really surprised me.  She loved the water...
and the sand.
We saw this happy face on Ella all week!
Alexa was such a little fish.  She was in the water more than anyone.
Devan found these huge sandcrabs!
By far the biggest I have ever seen.
She found a huge jelly fish too.
(No picture.  I guess I forgot to take one.)
Andy's morning task of building the "swimming pool" for the kids.
He got really good at it.  By the end of the week they were complete
with steps, slides, and umbrellas for shade.
(I guess I forgot to take a picture of Andy's masterpiece.  Sorry Babe!)
Alexa and Natalie
We saw dolphins everyday.
The last day the dolphins stayed all day and put on quite a show!

Looks like you had a fun time! The water looks really blue, something I don't remember from when we went growing up! It seemed like we were always covered in seaweed and lots of it! We are going to have to take a few days and try and go next year!

What a fun tradition. I can't believe those dolphins.
