Dear Lily,
Despite my desire to have you be my baby forever you are growing and changing everyday. I am trying to deal with the reality that time is passing by too quickly. You have just passed the six month mark. Halfway to one year hardly seems possible. At your six month appointment you greeted the doctor with smiles and quickly won her over has you babbled, giggled, and smiled the entire check-up. You measured just over 27 inches high (95 %tile) which is the average height for a 12 month old! No wonder none of your footie pajamas fit you. You only weighed 14 lbs 2 oz (16 %tile) so you are tall and skinny. The day after you turned six months you got sick for the first time. High fevers, throwing up, and the croup but you're all SMILES. You have mastered sitting up all by yourself a few days ago and are quite proud. You sit and wait for your Dad to see you and squeal with delight when he notices. You are a Mommy's girl right now but I know with time you will be just like your siblings and become a Daddy's girl. You have quite a fascination with putting your thumbs together--right fist closed, left hand opened, and just the thumbs touching. I'm sure it means you're a genius. You are quite the talker babbling all day long. Sleep is something you don't seem to need a lot of but since you hardly ever cry I'm fine with it. You are a social butterfly and a little cuddle bug. No stranger anxiety yet. Even now as I write this, you have just woken up and are talking to yourself in your crib. You are and have always been the happiest baby. I am forever grateful to call you mine.
Love,
Mom
