I look at the house blurred by my tears and I'm in awe that we made it. We had dreams to do this. For five years we dreamt of building a house in the exact place where we built. Dreams we never thought would become our reality. We have patience and determination which is a quite the combo. We made a plan, set goals, and worked really, really hard. This process was harder than we ever could have imagined. We learned more than we thought we could or would. It stretched us further than we ever thought was possible. We've grown and have been taught life lessons through this. It was a wonderful process. One that I wouldn't do again anytime soon and if we did it again we would do things differently based on what we learned. Just like everything in life. You live and you learn. But it has been amazing. We lived our dreams and it has been so rewarding. I always knew Andy could do anything but to see him first hand do everything that he did...he is amazing! There's no one like him and I was reminded time and time again how unbelievably lucky I am to call him mine. We're ready to get back to normal life. Normal for us is having balance, spending every moment we can with the kids, teaching them, being together, running, enjoying the outdoors, working and playing together, having dinner together, and having a to do list that doesn't include building a house. The house is far from done. We have deadlines to get the house painted, deck and railing, and the yard. We'll check those off one at a time and then we'll take a break and will tackle the rest when life gives us time. I can't wait to have no more pressure and deadlines so we can get back to just enjoying the ride. And what a ride life has been!
