Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween this year. Quite different than year's past because a) It fell on a Saturday and b) We laid sod all day long. I told Andy next time we lay sod let's not do it on Halloween. His response was, "There won't be a next time we lay sod." Ha! Too funny. It actually worked out and we had a great day. We took a break with laying sod around 2pm and went and carved pumpkins with the kids. Braden carved a minecraft ax, Taylor carved the Cheshire Cat, and Andy carved out Ella and Lily's pumpkins. Ella had Anna and Lily had Elsa to match their costumes. My contribution was gutting the pumpkins because no one likes that part. I'm pretty sure this was Braden's last year trick-or-treating. He went with his friend RJ and had a fun time. I told him next year we would get a movie and pizzas and he could have a bunch of friends over. I guess I should have given him the option before because he said he would have rather done that this year. He still had fun so I'm glad he could go one last time. Growing up too fast though. Taylor dressed up as Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. She went trick-or-treating to every house in our neighborhood with her friend Amelia. She got the most candy but went to the fewest houses so I think that will be the plan for us next year. Ella and Lily wanted to back to our old neighborhood to see "Uncle Holt" and so they could trick-or-treat on flat streets. Josh is our old neighbor and dentist and he was thrilled that the girls wanted to go see him. It was cute and of course they got a toothbrush. The kids had a fun night and Lily crashed after eating too much candy.
