Snakes, Tarantulas, and Deer oh my!

I should have known when we decided to buy a lot on the mountainside that it would come with nature on my doorstep. I didn't think about it until we were building. There have always been deer and no big deal. Or so I thought. They have scared the crap out of me on several occasions. I call them pets not wild deer because they are tame. But they are huge and gross and I don't want to be near them! They have been on our back patio, front porch, and all over the yard and driveway. And when you try to scare them away they don't move! I wasn't expecting that. I opened the garage one day and turned the corner to come face to face with a deer. Not funny. I knew there would be snakes but I told Andy as long as they weren't in my house or garage we would be fine. One Saturday we were in the front yard and Ella found a snake in the grass. Andy caught it and let it go in the ravine behind the house. I told him the snake would just come back. He was working on some painting projects in his workshop in the basement with the door open. I told him to shut the door and open the windows because I didn't want a snake in the house. He told me that would never happen. Well a few hours later Andy went to go check on the paint and was gone for quite a while. I asked him what was wrong when he came back upstairs. He told me the snake came back and was in his workshop. Are you kidding me? Then we were sitting on the front porch one evening and I looked across the street and saw a tarantula crossing the street coming towards our house. Seriously, who needs chickens crossing the road when you can have a tarantula? This was the 3rd tarantula Andy has caught since we've lived here. No thanks. The kids love it and thinks it so cool. Me? Not so much. I guess I'll just stay inside and watch out the window.
