Happy Halloween!

Wow! Halloween exceeded all my expectations and was such a fun night! Admittedly, it kind of crept up on us and we found ourselves with Andy covering at his old work this week and super busy, no pumpkins to carve, not a single decoration put up, and it might have been the best year yet! The weather was great. A little chilly but the rain held off until this morning so it worked out perfectly. The day started at the elementary school with the Halloween Parade and class parties. I put together a Halloween pictionary game for Ella's class and they loved it. Ella was so happy I was there. I'm glad I was able to go help since it's the only party they have parents volunteer for in 6th grade.
Everyone has been telling us about the neighborhood bakery behind the Johnson's house on the corner and the Halloween doughnuts they make every year. After school we decided to go check it out and it was so awesome. Trudy keeps this family tradition alive once a year and makes hundreds of the most delicious doughnuts I've ever had. I'm not a doughnut lover and I already can't wait for next Halloween homemade doughnuts. They were amazing.
I dropped Taylor off to go out with her friends in her giraffe pjs and we went to the neighborhood Halloween dinner at the Brown's and then headed out to go trick-or-treating. Our next door neighbor put Hotel Transylvania 3 on their projector and had blankets and chairs set up with cream soda so I joined her with our bucket of candy and handed out candy and we were able to hang out together. It worked out so well because our rental has the staircase of death up to our front door and I was certain we would have little kids tumbling down them. Jeff and Andy took the girls all over the neighborhood and they got spooked by one of the Archibald's boy that was a reaper on stilts. The girls told me he was on the corner standing 10 feet high and put his arm in the jeep window. Scared them pretty good. The girls said it was the best Halloween ever! I would have to agree. Happy Halloween!
