On February 4th we were able take the kids to the Draper Temple Open House. We have taken many drives to see the Temple under construction since we've lived here and told the kids we would take them to go see it when it was done. Braden hasn't forgotten and was very excited to go see it. We had tickets to go in the morning and since it was a weekday there weren't too many people there. It was so neat to be able to take the kids through the Temple. When we saw the bride's room I told Taylor that is where the girls get ready before they get married. She told me that is where they turn into princesses. Braden really liked the baptismal font since we just went to Madelyn's baptism. He kept telling me that when he turned 8 like Madelyn he was going to get baptized. The Temple was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't believe how many stained glass windows there were. They were in almost every room so it seemed so bright from the sunlight. And the chandeliers! They were amazing.
On our walk from the Temple to the Chapel we had a couple comment to us that they couldn't believe we had brought our kids because they left theirs at home so they could enjoy it. I thought to myself, the whole reason we came was for our kids to see the Temple because Andy and I can go anytime without them. Why wouldn't you want your kids to see the Temple? It's not everyday that there is a Temple Open House for you to go to with your kids. We are fortunate enough to another Open House (June 1st to August 1st) for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple (which will be our new Temple district). The kids are really excited about that one because they point out Angel Moroni every time we go to Target. It has become a game to see who can see it first.
I love the Temple. I love that I can see 3 Temples from my house. (Seriously, how many people can say that?) Walking through the Temple with Andy and the kids made me so grateful that my family is mine forever.

I agree it is so neat to see temples. We missed our date in Feb, just put it on the calendar wrong so I'm taking my kdis out of school tomorrow - with you - its a neat opportunity for the kids to see it!
