Thanksgiving

This year Andy was on call Thanksgiving Day. I've known for a year that he was going to be working it and I really didn't mind. Now that it's over I've decided that it would be great if he could work this holiday every year! I spent the morning with the kids at home and then we got ready to go to the hospital to meet Andy for dinner. Andy got all the food and took it up to the Physician's Lounge and we hung out and ate for a few hours. We had the entire lounge to ourselves. The hospital had the traditional turkey dinner and it was pretty good. But the kids LOVED the fully stocked kitchen in the lounge. After they ate a few bites (literally) they were raiding the kitchen. They ate yogurt, cookies, brownies, donuts, pumpkin pie, chips, and juice. Luckily the frozen treats were in a freezer that you open from the top so they couldn't find all the ice cream treats in there. I seriously thought they were going to have a stomach ache. (Apparently they didn't because when I tucked them into bed that evening Braden started crying telling me that it wasn't fair that he had to go to bed on Thanksgiving Day without having ANY treats! I had a good laugh remembering all the junk he had eaten a few hours earlier!) We enjoyed being with together. The kids had fun being in a new place and eating lots of treats and I enjoyed not having to cook or do dishes. Food, Family, Fun... and no dishes... this could become a new tradition!
