School's out for Summer!!

I told the kids on Monday morning as they were leaving for school, "Today is your last Monday in 1st and 3rd grade!"  As I walked back inside the house I realized it was the 25th which meant it was also exactly one month until they start 2nd and 4th grade.  Yes, they start back July 25th which makes me feel like it will be here in a blink of an eye.  One of the cons of year around school...  But I'm so excited for them to be done with school tomorrow afternoon even if it's only for 3 weeks.  It's been hard sending them to school each morning because they really haven't done much this week.  Ella, Lily, and I have been spending our afternoons at the pool and it's so tempting to keep them home so they can go swimming with us too!

Braden and Taylor received their awards yesterday.  They both got all 3 awards--honor roll, citizenship pins, and earned the brilliant bobcat.  I'm so proud of them.  They do so well and they love school!  During the school year they were chosen as student of the month.  Taylor got student of the month for friendship and Braden for fairness.  Braden was also voted in his class as the "Most likely to graduate college first."  He's a smarty pants and all his classmates think he's a genius.  It was a very fitting award.  ;)

Next school year will bring some challenges since Ella got into the charter school down the street.  So we will be doing 2 different schools, one year around and one traditional schedule.  Basically it means I will send someone to school every morning for 11 months!  Crossing my fingers that Braden and Taylor will get in as well.  Little Miss Lily will be doing 3 year old preschool so 2 mornings a week I'll have 2 hours without kids.  I have always had a child with me 24/7 for the past 9 years so I feel like I'm starting a new chapter in my life.

Just 22 hours until summer officially begins!!
