Among all the celebrations of Christmas and New Year's my kids managed to lose 5 teeth in just 5 days. Braden has had 1 real wiggly molar for months and no matter what we did it hung on for dear life. The new molar was completed erupted underneath and somehow it was still caught on the lingual side and wouldn't budge. With all the focus on that tooth he had 2 other molars randomly fall out a few days after Christmas, one in the evening and the other the next morning. The other molar that we were so focused on was still there. It was crazy. On the 3rd day Braden somehow managed to get the 3rd tooth out. He lost 3 teeth in 3 days. With Christmas vacation the tooth fairy was a little slow to getting to the teeth so he had 3 teeth hanging out under his pillow. Crazy. The next night (Friday, January 2) I was putting curlers in the girls hair and Ella was showing me how wiggly her front tooth was getting. She's been working on getting it loose since Halloween and was convinced she was going to lose her tooth any day even though it wasn't moving. Sure enough it was finally actually wiggling! I took a picture of her since I think of all the teeth you lose, losing your front top teeth are the ones that instantly change you from little girl to big girl. It's the one that always makes me sad because in an instant your smile changes and you officially move on to being and looking more grown up. That same night Taylor supposedly stayed up wiggling her bottom canine (that I didn't even know was wiggly) and said she pulled it out at 10pm. She told me about it in the morning and told me since the tooth fairy was already "en route" she didn't think she would be prepared to stop by. Saturday evening the kids were jumping on the tramp and Ella's very wiggly tooth got bumped and she ran inside to get a tissue because it was bleeding. When she put the tissue in her mouth, out fell her tooth! She was so excited! The tooth fairy had double duty that evening with Ella and Taylor's teeth under their pillows. Taylor has always been obsessed with the tooth fairy, writing her letters and asking lots of questions. She stayed up last night pretending to be asleep and caught the tooth fairy's attempts 3 times until 4am! With all this excitement Lily is convinced her tooth is loose and shows me. "Look Mom! See? It's wiggling!" Nothing moves but she thinks otherwise.
