Powder Mountain

We really wanted to take the kids up to Ogden Canyon for a weekend of skiing. We stayed at wolf creek and had a mini ski vacation! We drove up Thursday night after work and skied Friday and Saturday. Originally we wanted to go to Nordic Valley but it ended up closing the weekend before because of the warm temperatures they were having. For some reason I was thinking Powder Mountain would be great for beginners as well. Ha! It was SO steep! Seriously. Ella and Lily had never been skiing and boy it was tough. Braden and Taylor did great. After 1 run down with the little girls Andy had the idea to tie a rope around their waist and help them not to go too fast down the hill. It was a killer quad workout to hold them from behind but we managed to ski most of the day. We spent the rest of the day in the hot tub and watching movies together at the condo. The next day the girls lasted a few hours and were done so I took them back and Andy and Braden stayed the rest of the day skiing together. It was the warmest weather I have ever skied in. I couldn't believe how warm it was. I will only ski in the spring because I don't like to freeze on the ski lift in the winter. It's miserable to me. But these 2 days. So gorgeous! Bright blue skies with intense sun. Beautiful! One of the evenings we went into Ogden and showed the kids our first house and got ice cream at Jake's Over the Top. We're hoping to make this a tradition and have our little ski getaway every spring.
