Backsplash

I think it's safe to say that our kitchen is finally done! I went down to Vegas with the kids for an early spring break with my sisters and I hinted to Andy that it would be the perfect time to do the backsplash. He agreed so I had to hurry and make a decision. The main reason why the backsplash hasn't gotten done was mostly because I couldn't decide on what I wanted so we just moved on. Heavens know we have plenty of other projects to do. ;) I ended up choosing a marble subway tile. I love the way it turned out! Andy worked so hard on it. It took so much longer than he had anticipated (that almost always happens-takes twice as long and costs twice as much) mostly because the marble had so many color/veining variations that Andy would go through boxes and boxes of tile and only pick out a few that weren't too gray or too yellow. As big of a pain as it was I'm so glad he took the time to do it right. I think he said he went back to the tile shop 3 times and went through about 60 boxes of tiles. Oops! Thanks Babe! It looks awesome! (To reward all his hard work I grouted it for him. I try to earn my keep when I can!)
