Braden and Taylor First Day of School

Taylor technically had a half day the day before the official first day of school for all the 6th graders to get oriented at the middle school. She is so ready for middle school! She loves having multiple classes, a locker, no recess, and feeling grown up. She is very outgoing and is comfortable in her own skin so I'm hoping that middle school will serve her well. She is very disciplined and smart so I know she'll transition from elementary school to middle school with no problems.

Braden was all set to switch schools and the week before school started he was having doubts about wanting to change schools. So imagine my surprise when I got an email for registration and class schedules and it was for Braden and Taylor. I consider it a miracle that when I withdrew Braden, Ella, and Lily from the school last year, somehow, Braden wasn't withdrawn, just the little girls. Then to make it even better the communications class elective that Braden reluctantly chose (a process of which one will be the least worst elective that he wanted, the whole reason why he was going to switch schools was to have better elective options with the bigger school) was no longer being offered and they hired a technology teacher and anyone who chose communications would now be in web design/coding. Braden was so excited. Technology is his language and those were the electives he was hoping for at the new school but wasn't sure if he would get them with the late registration. So he made the decision right then to stay and not switch schools. I'm hopeful that switching to all honors classes and having this web design elective will help him have an awesome school year. Eighth grade, last year of middle school--he's growing up too fast.
