4th of July fun with cousins

Andy was on call and we got invited to go down to Provo to spend time with cousins. We almost always spend it with Andy's family so this was the first year in a while that we weren't in Honeyville. We met up with Jared, Annette, Jason, Mindy, Uncle Ray, Aunt Jan, and all their kids for a potluck dinner at a park near BYU. It was fun reconnecting with cousins that I haven't seen for a while. As were heading down to Payson I called Andy to see how his day was. I'll never forget a few minutes into the conversation he got a text saying his dad passed away. I was able to tell the kids and we talked and reminisced about Grandpa. I think it was a blessing that we were gone so Andy was able to head up to Honeyville and be there to support his mom and go to the funeral home with some of his siblings. As I've thought about Mike's passing I find it interesting that of all the day it could've happened that it would be the 4th of July. The day we always got together as a family at the house. I'm sure there aren't any coincidences and we'll spend the rest of our 4th of July's together celebrating remembering Mike. Exactly the way he would want it.

The next day we hung out with Jared and Annette and ended up going to the Jazz summer basketball game preview.
