An hour after Andy got home we went up to Honeyville to be with his family (Aunts, Uncles, cousins, Grandma, siblings, etc.). I was thinking on the way up how nice it was to be done with my talk. I don't know if I'm the only one that can get physically sick over preparing/giving a talk but it happens every time. But I didn't have any anxiety over it and was able to enjoy the day.
On Sunday, Andy stayed home with Ella and I went to church with the kids. After Sunday School I ran into the 1st counselor in the Bishopric who gave us the assignment to speak and he asked how we were doing on our talks. I told him that I was done and Andy had been reading and studying at work the past few weeks and felt pretty prepared. He said, "Really?" (Brace yourself.) He then went on to tell me that last week the Bishopric decided to change the subject. I was waiting for him to say, "No, I'm just joking" but he didn't. He opened up his planner to his calendar and showed me the new speaking topic. I was numb. I wanted to cry. Maybe procrastination was the best policy when it came to writing talks? I don't know what the lesson was in Relief Society. I just sat there in disbelief staring at the chalkboard. I told Andy the 'good news' when we got home. He didn't seem to care but I did.
So last night I started over again. The new topic is Strengthening Our Testimony. As I was sitting at the computer thinking of ways that we strengthen our testimony I looked at Andy and joked, "I think writing 2 talks in a weekend can strengthen your testimony!"

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! I can't believe they did that to you! That is INSANE! Oh, wow....wow.
That is sick and wrong! I would have politely told him he could ask someone else to speak the coming Sunday, and when they wanted a talk on the original topic, you were their gal! And sorry about the migraine. I have only had two ever, but they are horrible.
That is Horrible! I am so sorry you got so sick! We need to get together so and let the kids play. I also own the 4th Twilight book if you would like to Borrow it.
Perhaps you should include in your talk, that testimonies can be strengthened even when the Bishopric pulls a blitz on you and makes you want to cry, take down your one hung picture, and move out of state, until you remember... the Church is true, and you'd just have to speak in your newer ward anyway.
Good luck Julianne! And God speed... your writing and stomach, that is.
Hey Julianne! It's your cousin MariAnn. I found Christines blog which had a link to yours! So fun to see your cute family! We have a blog too but we had to set it at private. Send us your e-mail address to notcreative@juno.com and I'll send you an invite if you want to view our blog.
