On Wednesday we finally hung a picture on the wall. Yikes! It feels official, like we might be here for a while. You see, the last time we hung a picture on the wall was when we were living in South Carolina. I know. I have a hard time committing to something as simple as hanging a picture on the wall... Like it's permanent so I avoid it if I can. No, I'm not saying that I don't like having pictures on the wall, I just don't like the pressure of deciding what pictures go where. So you may ask, what made me do this?? (We've only been here for 6 months. No rushing things!) Well, my parents gave me this frame for my birthday a few weeks ago and I love it! I immediately was on a mission to find or take pictures to go in it. And yes, I even knew where I was going to hang it! Andy was about to go into shock, really! Even when he was about to nail the hole in the beloved bare wall he asked, "Are you sure you want it here?" I told him he better pound the nails in before I changed my mind! :) After that momentous occasion Andy suggested that when I was ready to decorate the rest of the house we should get an interior designer to help. Smart man.
Ok. So enough blabbing. I'm really stalling because I have a talk to write. Andy is camping with his 11 year old scouts and I'm not finding the discipline to stay on task. Anyone who has given a talk on Hope and Grace let me know! I don't give the talk until next Sunday but I'm trying to be good and have it started (and hopefully somewhat finalized) tonight to avoid the many tears that are shed in the 11th hour because I have procrastinated it until the last possible moment hoping the the "writing fairy" would come and write my talk for me. Hasn't happened yet so I better go get started!

Six months is nothing! I am pretty sure we have gone about a year before hanging things in places we have lived. And even then it is only a handful of pictures. Craig got me a frame for Christmas and I still haven't picked out pictures to go in it. Maybe your actions will inspire me to get on the ball!
Totally cracking up! I get teased for doing the exact opposite. I have things hung in the first 24 hours of moving in. No idea why, I have no clue where to put things, I just put 'em up and hope they work. I think it's a curse from moving so much.....I need something to help me feel at home. Something that is mine. I too am looking forward to finally being able to hire someone who has a clue to help give me a clue.....someday :)
Not to worry, I haven't hung a dang thing either. I think I've been in totaly denial over this move. Even thought I know it was what we were to do. That picture frame is the best. I brought one home with me in July when I was there. It is just waiting for pictures to be put in and then to be hung.
