Introducing...

Braden with glasses!!  Who would have guess that Braden needed glasses??  When I took him in for his 5 year check up back in July his pediatrician referred me to a pediatric opthamologist  because Braden had a hard time reading the eye chart.  I couldn't get an appointment until September 12th so we waited, he started school and had no troubles.  I really thought he would go to this appointment and the doctor would say his eyes were fine.  Nope, his eye sight is 20/60 in his right eye and 20/80 in his left eye--legally blind!  I told the doctor I was shocked because he knows how to read and the books have small print.  He chuckled and said well, if he can read without glasses just think what he'll be able to do with glasses!  So it has been a long process (3 months) but he got glasses last Thursday, the 23rd, so now he can see!  I felt like such a terrible mom because Braden saw the world through blurry eyes for 5 years and I had no idea!  Another kid in Braden's class got glasses after the Kindergarten assessment so I guess I'm not the only mom to go through this.  :-)

He's a pretty handsome fellow with glasses, don't you think?

Don't feel bad. How would you have ever known. That is why they do screenings at the school and moms go for check ups. You are a great mom.
He looks so cute. But he's my nephew! Can't wait to see you at Knotts.
