It has been a rough month overall for Lily. I could sum it up by saying she's sick of being sick. (Actually, I think we're all sick of being sick!) She started out the new year with the croup for 9 days. Yes, NINE days. I feel like I have dealt with my fair share of the croup in my 6 years of being a mother and never has the croup lasted for more than 3 or 4 days. So I guess I should say I wasn't that surprised when a week later she had round 2 of the croup, but I was. Seriously. I couldn't believe it. We were all healthy the week before and the week of our trip to St. George. (I actually got to go church that week. I think that is the only time I've been to church this whole year.) During that time Lily got her first tooth! Healthy, but teething. Well, Ella woke up sick on the Sunday we were leaving St. George and Monday, Lily was sick again with the croup (round 3). With Lily being sick so much she got used to me holding her a lot more and tending to her every need in the middle of the night and after she got better (for a few days) she was up 2 to 3 times an hour in the night. We ended up having to let her cry it out which was the best and hardest thing to do. Luckily she only cried for 10 minutes (maybe less) and went to sleep and slept the entire night. The third night she did this I had to wake her up to take the kids to school and on the way to school Taylor informed me that Lily had food coming out of her ear. What? Seriously! I have never dealt with an ear infection but after getting home and looking at it I wasn't sure. She didn't have a fever and she slept the entire night so she obviously wasn't in pain. I hadn't been feeling well and was on day 6 or 7 of some sort of stomach flu and wasn't in the mood to take her to the doctor if it wasn't for sure an ear infection. So I called Laci (who has dealt with her fair share of ear infections ;)) and talked to her. Brian called me later and after talking with him we thought maybe with her being so sick and teething that she just had a build up of fluids and not an infection since she didn't have a fever and wasn't fussy so we decided to wait it out a few days and luckily everything seems to be fine. She has still been congested this past week but seems to be doing much better today. Hopefully we're done with being sick for the rest of the year! (I guess this explains why I haven't blogged in a month. It's been a busy one for sure!)
So, at 7 months, Lily has 2 teeth, sleeps through the night (hopefully it stays that way), has started eating solid foods which she sometimes is unsure about (prunes are definitely her favorite), talks/babbles nonstop, and despite being so sick she still is such a happy baby!
