Taylor Turns FIVE!!

Taylor has been anticipating her 5th birthday for 364 days. Needless to say she was more than thrilled when the actual day finally came. She wanted a birthday party with no boys which turned out to be a good thing because when I made the list of who to invite their were 8 girls. If she wanted to invite boys the list would have easily been over 12. Phew! She wanted a Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, Princess Party. To incorporate all of her wishes we sent out Hello Kitty invitations, played pin the princess on the castle, made a Hello Kitty cake, and the party favors were My Little Ponies and Hello Kitty Cake Pops.
Andy had to stay at work later because of an emergency surgery so I had to tackle the birthday party by myself which I wasn't planning on. I was a little nervous about it because I planned to do a craft that involved ironing and a lot of beads. Luckily, it all worked out. The party a huge success and I was exhausted at the end of it.
A few things I noticed when comparing last year's party to this one:
1.) Last year they wanted to play games, games, and more games. Seriously, I thought I planned a lot of games but they wanted more so we just made them up as we went along. This year, no one wanted to play games. They just wanted to play with the toys in the toy room.
2.) Last year, no one ate cake. I made a princess cake and they ate one bite and were done. This year, eight girls ate an entire 9 x 13 cake and an entire carton of ice cream!
3.) Who knew making 2 batman/superman capes and 6 tutus would be less time consuming than making Hello Kitty cake pops for party favors??? (I was trying to simplify and failed miserably. I think it took 3 (maybe 4) nights to complete those cake pops. I think I'm cake pop challenged!)

Happy Birthday to the smartest, most beautiful 5 year old in the whole wide world! I love you Taylor!
