I have no idea where October (or September for that matter) went. But it has come and gone and we had a great Halloween!
I got this idea in my head that if I made Taylor's costume she would see some sort of sentimental value and actually wear her costume this year. (You might remember last year as we were leaving the house to go trick-or-treating she went downstairs and changed into something else. Ella followed suit.) This year she wanted to be a Fairy Godmother (which I should have done) but we settled on Princess Belle. Ella has a Cinderella costume from last year that she didn't wear and it still fit. So I thought it would be cute if the girls were Princess Belle, Aurora, and Cinderella. (I should have settled for something like Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, and Gus-Gus.) After I made Taylor's costume Ella wanted me to make her a dress and refused to be Cinderella. She wanted to be Princess Aurora. I already had Lily's costume halfway done and so we settled on it being Princess Belle, Aurora, and Aurora. (Or at least my version of Princess Belle and Aurora. I don't do patterns.) ;) I guess the idea of making the costume worked because the girls loved their dresses and wore them on Friday and Saturday. (Ok, maybe the lipgloss and mascara had something to do with them wanting to wear the costumes too!) I think they were pretty cute princesses, too!
Braden wanted to be Darth Vader. He wanted me to make his costume but I told him since I made his costume last year it was the girl's turn. Phew, he agreed. ;) (Have I ever mentioned that every family should have a Braden?)
We went trick-or-treating on Saturday since Halloween was on Sunday. I guess in Utah you can get away with that. It started raining late afternoon and then there was a break right before 6pm so we hurried and went out with the kids for an hour and it started to rain again so we came home. The kids were happy and got plenty of candy. I bet you'll never guess who has already eaten all of theirs already? I'll give you a hint....
