Our House: Week 17

Another week has come and gone.  It seems like forever ago we started the house with sunny, hot weather.  Winter is a reminder that time is flying by.  More progress with the house this week.  All work being done was stick framing the trusses and sheeting the roof.  We are hopeful that it will all be done next week and snow shoveling the inside of the house will become a distant memory.  Things will slow down again with a funeral, Christmas, and New Year's.  We will start roofing, electrical, heating/air, and plumbing sometime in January.  The ball will start rolling as multiple things can be worked on at once.  I went up to the house yesterday to take Andy and Chris lunch.  As I drove by I caught a glimpse of our lives starting a new chapter in this house as I looked at the progress.  Up until now it has been a fun process of building a house.  Yesterday it really dawned on me that this is OUR house.  The place we will call home.  It was so real to me yesterday.  A new excitement and gratitude for this process is growing inside me.
