Braden's 13th Birthday!

13!?! How on earth? When I was tucking in Braden 2 days before his birthday I got very emotional as I realized when he woke up the next morning he would be the exact age I was when my mom died. There was something very surreal about seeing your child at an age that is engraved in your mind because of life events. Yes, he's my oldest, and yes he's growing up. But in the whole scheme of things as I look at him and think of myself when I was his age and what I went through, he's just a baby. This is a milestone I've looked forward to for some reason. To be a mother to my children longer than my mom was able to be to me. Braden is such a joy. I'm so glad I have him in my life. I'm glad that I'm still here to be able to raise him and have him bring so much joy to my life.
Braden was excited his Oregon cousins were stopping through on his birthday so we waited to celebrate after they got here. Braden is a red velvet cake lover. It's his favorite so that was his only request. Taylor surprised him with a big bag of sour patch kids. We had homemade Cafe Rio because he didn't care and Ella really wanted it. See how he's the perfect 1st child? Very easy going and wanting to make others happy. Love you bud! You're the best!
