18 Months...

Wow! Time is a funny thing. Each day seems like forever and yet the weeks, months, and years just fly by. Lily is 18 months, well 18 1/2 months if you want to be technical, and I can hardly believe it. Although each day lately has seemed like an eternity with keeping her busy, out of trouble, off the table, out of bathrooms, and cleaning up after her every second of the day, I couldn't imagine my life without this sweet little thing. Her laugh is contagious, her smile can brighten anyone's day, her kisses melt my heart, and I'm so grateful she's mine. She has been a Daddy's girl up until yesterday after church. I don't know if there was a kid crying in nursery for their mom but she calls me Momma all day long now and I absolutely love it. She has been going to nursery since the beginning of this month and loves it. She walks right in there, sits down, and doesn't cry despite the fact that there are at least 3 or 4 other kids crying or screaming at the top of their lungs. Lets hope it stays that way.
Each of my kids are so unique and different from each other and Lily is no exception. She is quite an independent little thing. She has to do everything herself and on her own time schedule which makes daily things like getting buckled in her carseat, changing her diaper, or getting dressed an impossible task at times. Yet, she has no problem taking a nap or going to bed at night. I think it's because she goes nonstop all day long that she is exhausted. She is a busy little bee, constantly climbing on anything and everything. She loves to play with her older siblings and follows them everywhere they go. She loves to play polly pockets (one in each hand) and giggles with delight when she plays with her zhu-zhu pet and it falls off the coffee table. She'll eat anything but meat. Her favorite things to eat are bananas, peanut butter toast, and baked potatoes with sour cream. She loves to color. It is absolutely her favorite thing to do right now. She climbs up on the table and lays down with her knees tucked under her, bum in the air, face a few inches from the paper, coloring away with so much concentration it makes Andy and me laugh. She gets down to business with her coloring and has pretty good dexterity for her age. She is awful at sharing. She doesn't have to share because her siblings give her anything and everything she wants. We're working on it and it seems to be getting better. She loves to read books and will sit on my lap and bring me a pile of books to read and points to all the things on the page. She loves dogs. She says "dog" over and over again in a high pitched squeal whenever she sees a dog whether its in a book or on the sidewalk. If I'm having trouble getting her in her carseat I tell her we're going to go look for dogs and she immediately points her finger and says, "Dog, Dog, Dog..." and most of the time I'm able to get her in her seat. She is extremely sensitive and will cry if you look at her the wrong way when she's doing something bad or tell her "No." Like full on lip pouting, alligator tears, crying. Drama queen in the making... we're going to be in trouble with that one.
Oh, Little Miss Lily! What would we do without you! Momma loves you to the moon and back...
