She's only 3 1/2 years old and she's already falling apart. ;) It all started the first weekend in December when a football was placed on the trampoline by one of her siblings (a big no-no) and she came down on the football and fractured her left leg. She didn't walk on it until Christmas Day over 3 weeks later. She is still hobbling along on it but has had her follow-up x-ray last week and it has healed up all on its own. Then, earlier this week she got a bloody nose, which isn't unusual for her for whatever reason but this time she was covered in blood. I had gone into my bathroom to go get Lily because she loves my bathroom and next thing I know it Ella's coming into the room telling me she had a bloody nose. I turned around and saw so much blood I couldn't believe it. Now, flash forward to yesterday morning. Andy has Bishopric meetings in the morning which means I get myself and 4 kids ready all by myself. I got the kids breakfast and when they are close to finishing up I put a scripture movie/cartoon on for them and I jump in the shower. A few minutes later Taylor comes running into the bathroom to tell me Ella has another bloody nose. I remembered the one from earlier in the week so I got out, got my robe and ran into the kitchen to check on her. I grabbed some tissues and baby wipes and was holding her nose with one hand and the back of her head with the other. I started to notice that my hand that was holding her head had blood on it to so I asked Taylor to get me a kitchen towel and I wiped off my hand and her head thinking it was blood from her nose that got on my hand and was somehow on her head. Nope, I was wrong. I wiped her head and was able to see that it had a gash on it. I call Andy and interrupt his meetings telling him something like, "Come home now! Ella's head is bleeding and I need your help." Braden told me that he was running into the kitchen to get something and Ella was sitting on the slate floor watching the movie and he didn't see her and ran right into her (which explains the bloody nose) and she fell back on the slate floor (which explains the head wound). Luckily we had dura-bond on hand and Andy was able to glue her head and then she was fine. The best part was when I told her I would stay home from church with her she cried, much more than when she got hurt, telling me that she wants to go to primary. I was laughing to myself thinking, Ella, you crack your head open and you're fine... keep you away from primary and the world has ended. Needless to say she went to primary proudly telling people who noticed her head that she had a bloody nose too. She is one tough cookie. Please Ella, no more blood this week, ok?
