I've been missing in action here on my blog for the past few months. The reason.... we've been busy. Busy with the day-to-day stuff but mostly busy with the Ogden house. We had our renters from you-know-where move out the end of February and left the house in the worst condition possible. It was a very trying for me because I basically became a single mom for 2 months while Andy spent every single moment up in Ogden working on that house. Most of the time I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I would get a call from Andy telling me his latest "discovery" in the house. I wanted to be so mad at them but at the end of the day I just feel very sorry for them and their pathetic existence. I especially feel sorry for their children who have no choice but to live in deplorable conditions with parents that lack respect for anyone or anything and have absolutely no integrity or work ethic. We (mostly Andy) had compassion and decided not to take them to court and we have moved on. I have learned a lot through this experience. Mostly, that I am so grateful for my life, my family, and the values that I have been taught that make me the person I am today. It was very hard on the kids to have Andy gone so much but they have learned a huge lesson as well. I broke down one day when they were crying about Andy being gone so I decided to teach them why he had to be up in Ogden so much. I showed them all the pictures and videos of the house and told them that because the renter's had disrespected our house it was going to take a long time for Daddy to fix it. It was very fitting to a FHE lesson we had the previous month about respect. Now I hear Taylor saying, "That is not being respectful. Do you want to be like the Ellis' and make Dad sad?"

We are trying to get back to a normal routine. I'll be updating the blog and adding links to the titles below as I post them.

I'm so sorry about your renters. We are currently renting out our house in Provo and don't have the best renters. I'm scared what we're going to find when their lease ends. But it sounds like you guys are handling it with the right attitude. Good luck!

I'm so impressed with your outlook on this experience. And what a great example you are setting for your kids. And I'm so glad you are back to blogging!

So sorry for the craziness with the renters! That stinks! I'm glad you're back to blogging though! We miss you guys! We're not coming to Provo this Summer b/c Chad's family is having a family reunion on Jon's houseboat at Lake Powell in a couple of weeks, so we'll be there instead. Hopefully we can get back up there soon though or you guys can make a trip to Houston! Love you guys!
