What a special day it was! Braden was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 6, 2011. (Exactly 23 years from the day I was baptized. I'm so glad we will always share the same baptism date.) He is such a special boy and I'm so lucky to have him not only be my son but be my oldest child to be such a great example for his sisters. I hope he will always have such a strong desire to do what's right.
It was mentioned before the confirmations that all the kids were baptized by their fathers and what a special thing that was for the kids. I thought about how special it was for Braden to be baptized by his Dad and to have Papa and Grandpa be the witnesses. And then to be confirmed a member of the church by his Dad with Papa, Grandpa, Uncle Brian, Uncle Jason, Uncle Chris, Uncle Damon, and (Great)Uncle Ray all standing in the circle was something to behold. We had so many family members support him on his special day. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come! He felt loved and was so excited to have so many to share his day with!
A week before the baptism he had an interview with the Bishop and he asked Braden some questions and shared them during the "Introduction of the Baptismal Candidates." This is what was shared:
Favorite Primary Song: "I Lived in Heaven"
Favorite Scripture Story: Nephi and Lehi were cast into prison but Heavenly Father protected them and helped them out.
Favorite Food: Steak, pizza, asparagus, and chicken
Special Personality Traits: Loves to help dad work in the yard outside and is very helpful and kind.
Favorite things to do/play: Wii (Mario Cart & Wii Sports), soccer, and playing UNO with his family.
Anything else? Knows many scripture stories and reads them often. Mom is teaching him how to play the piano.
