We had the pleasure of having my sister, Jen, and her family stay with us for a few days in July on their trek back home from their vacation in St. George. She's the only one in my family that has 2 boys so Braden was excited to have some boys to play with and of course the girls practically worshipped the ground Allison walked on. We went to "Planet Play" and the kids had fun playing all the games together. Later that day we went and hiked the "Y" down in Provo. That was Earl's only request while they were here. I've never done it before so I didn't know what to expect. Ella tripped on a rock and scraped her knee about 15 feet into our hike and didn't want to go any further and Lily didn't want to be carried. Ella and Lily were wearing their finest hiking attire. Ella, a dress. Lily, flip flops. We got there later than Jen & Earl and Jared & Annette and their families so they were all waiting at the top for us. It wasn't looking too promising for us to get up there before it got dark. Earl ran down and met us when we were about halfway and helped us to the top.
We spent the next day swimming with the kids and then got a babysitter and went out to The Cheesecake Factory for Jared's birthday. I need to get pictures from Annette but it was fun to spend the evening with Brian & Laci, Jared & Annette, Jason & Mindy, and Jen & Earl. Earl was a comedian providing us constant laughs and entertainment!
I told Jen whenever they were up for a 13 hour drive to just come back our way! We loved having them here. It's never a long enough visit but I promise we'll come to Oregon next time!!
