We made our annual trip to the beach this summer! It started out with Annette losing the diamond out of her ring while setting up camp. Andy did the impossible and found the diamond! We couldn't believe it! I'm sure we'll be talking about it years to come, "Remember that one year when Annette lost her diamond..."
It was a fun year for the kids because they had 8 cousins to play with on the beach. The sun forgot to come until Friday but the kids didn't care. I sat on the beach wrapped in 3 beach towels with goosebumps while the kids played with all their cousins all day long. I didn't even get my toes wet until the last day. Devan managed to get me out there to ride some waves with her. Once I got completely numb I was fine. ;) Britney and Madelyn get the award for being in the water the longest. Those girls were in the water first and the very last ones out. I remember being that way when I was a kid. It's funny because I don't remember the water being cold when I was younger. I'm turning into my mom who would only get in the water once and was done. Hopefully I can redeem myself next year and get in a bit more. But did I mention it was freezing? Braden tried to boogie board a few times but thought it was way too cold. Taylor was content doing gymnastics on the beach and didn't go past her knees in the water. Ella was busy making sand ice cream cones and playing with Natalie. Lily took a nap right when we got down to the beach every morning and was a happy little girl the rest of the day. It was a great week!!
This is our favorite vacation with our kids. Despite the long drive, once we get there our kids are in heaven playing in the sand and it is truly relaxing to sit on the beach all day long.
We just got home today and Taylor's already crying about wanting to go back to the beach with her cousins. I wish we were back there, too!

P.S. You should hit the Texas beaches next time...the water is MUCH warmer!
