{Friday, October 28th} Maui

Today was a very windy day! We started the day by going to Wailea Beach. We wanted to paddle board but it was too windy so we kayaked instead. We've never kayaked before and it turned out to be really fun. (We were disappointed to find out that at the Grand Wailea you can get a 4 day unlimited pass for renting kayaks, paddle board, boogie boards, etc for $99! Of course we found this out on our second to last day there!) While kayaking we saw four sea turtles and it was fun to paddle around for an hour together.

Quick (Small World) Story. When we were walking up the path back to our car I nudged Andy and said, "That girl (the girl walking towards us) looks just like Jamie Marek." Then we hear, "No way! Andy?" It was in fact Jamie. She had just gotten married and was on her honeymoon. We hadn't seen her for over 2 years since she was dating our friend Brett. We chatted for a while and got caught up on our lives, Emilee, and other things. Small world.

The wind was picking up more and more so we decided to head north to Lahaina to go out to dinner and do some shopping then up to Ka'anapali to watch the sunset.

Another Quick (Small World) Story. When we were planning our trip to Maui, my Dad kept telling us we needed to see their neighbors who are on a mission in Maui (Hana). Twice, when we talked to him he reminded us of finding them. I told him it would be nearly impossible since we spent our entire vacation on the beach or in the car. So, on our way back from Ka'anapali we stopped by Costco to pick up chocolates to bring home. We were standing in the aisle looking at all the chocolates. I turned around and to my surprise there are two missionaries standing right behind us. It was the Jacobsen's, my parent's neighbors. Small world. It's a very small world!

The week went by really fast but we had a fantastic time in Maui! Hopefully it won't be 8 years until we go again!
