Black Mambas

Braden played soccer several years ago.  Kindergarten and 1st Grade, maybe?  Not sure but it's been a while.  I stopped signing him up because he tried baseball the next season, then he never asked and life got busy.  The first week of September Braden asked me, "So am I ever going to be able to play soccer again?"  He has never asked about it and none of his friends play soccer so I was a little surprised at where the question came from.  I told him if that's what he wanted to do I would sign him up.  I asked him why he wanted to play so suddenly.  His response was he always wanted to play he was just waiting for me to sign him up like I always had.  Really?  My heart stung a little knowing that I literally dropped the ball on that one.  Braden is such an even kill, happy go lucky kid that more often than I would like to admit the girls demands are center stage and he happily goes on with life.  Bless him.  Luckily there was one more day to sign up!  It was a short season 7 games in 4 weeks but it was great for him to get back into it and he said after his game today that he'd like to keep playing.  He was very determine to score a goal on his last game.  He practiced all week long and got neighbor kids to play games at the park with him.  This morning you could see that he was determined to get a goal.  Less than a minute into the game he got the ball and kicked it right into the goal and scored.  He was so excited that he did a fist pump!  The game and season could have ended that very second and he would've been one happy boy.  His team had a great season.  They only lost one game by a goal in the final seconds the rest of the games the won by 3-4 goals easily.  I guess I need to go find out when the next season starts and sign him up!
