Our House: Week 9

Wow!  What a week!!  There was a lot of framing going on for the main level of the house.  We ran into a snag with the window height once it was framed and tried to see if we could change our custom window order that we place a few weeks before.  We were informed that they were on the loading truck to be delivered to the warehouse the next morning.  Usually you get excited when things are done 3 weeks early (especially since we found out our roof trusses are 5 weeks delayed).  Not the surprise we were hoping for.  We were bummed.  I don't think Andy slept at all on Wednesday night trying to figure out a solution.  We ended up talking with our engineer Thursday morning to see what we could do and had a few things reengineered and came up with a good compromise.  Only 4 inches when we were hoping to 6-10 inches but we'll take it.  What a learning process this has been!  Andy will spend next week reframing 2 of the walls that we need to change.  Two steps forward, one step back.  We're hoping all the exterior walls on the main level will be framed next week.  It's really starting to look like a house!!
