My parents invited us to go ice skating at the Olympic Oval. We met up with my parents, Christine, Laci, and all the cousins to have dinner and then went ice skating. We took our kids roller skating a few months ago and to say it was unsuccessful would be an understatement. They didn't even make it around the rink once. I was a little worried about how they would do on the ice but I talked it up with the kids all afternoon and they were beyond excited to go with their cousins. I was completely surprised when Ella and Lily just took off without me. Taylor went with Katie and Camryn and they were half way around the rink before I even stepped onto the ice. They all had so much fun! Lily was going around and around without anyone there with her most of the night lapping everyone. She was in her element, in complete control, and loving every second of it. Unfortunately I forgot about extra long socks so Lily had some sweet blisters after an hour and was done. Andy took her and Braden over to the other rink to watch Kazakhstan (?) do their time trials (or was it a practice?) for the Olympics. I stayed and skated with Taylor and Ella. Who knew ice skating was a fun activity for all ages? Such a fun night! Thanks Grandma and Papa!
