Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school for the girls!  Braden still has one more week.  I can't wait for them to all be at the same school next year and all on the same schedule.  I send at least one kid out the door for school 11 months out of the year.  Gotta love the traditional/year around school schedule mix that we've been living with for far too long.  It's the first full summer we will ever have together and I can't wait to have the break.  I wouldn't be ready to send Braden back in July again.

It has been so crazy this week that I haven't really had time for it to sink in that the end of the school year is here.  I have no idea where this school year went.  The girls did great in school and they were both on the honor roll and Taylor was awarded for being "Knowledgeable" at the end of the year assembly.  Ella's teacher gave her a certificate for being a "Desk Monkey."  I guess Ella had the cleanest desk the entire school year.  Not surprising at all.  She's very much like her mom and dad.  They had amazing teachers.  Ella loved Mrs. Palmer and Taylor had lots of fun with Miss Werner.  They were the perfect teachers each of them.  It's bittersweet for another school year to be done.  I love having my kids home for the summer.  I've said it before but I would homeschool my kids if I had my way because I love being with them.  Right now I don't think the "risk to benefit ratio" (if you will) justifies me homeschooling them.  They love going to school, learning, and being with their friends.  I can't take that away from them.  But it's hard to watch them grow so quickly and the end of the school year marks yet another milestone to confirm that life is flying by!
