Al Carraway Fireside

Andy came home from one of his stake meetings back in February and told me they were hosting a stake youth fireside with Al Carraway and wanted to know if I knew who she was. He knew immediately by my reaction that I knew who she was. Andy was probably the only one in the meeting that had never heard of her therefore they never went into details of who she was. Al Carraway is aka the "Tattooed Mormon" and she was coming to our stake to speak and I was really excited. While we waited 6 months for her to come Taylor got really interested in following Al on instagram and even read her book even though we had never told her about the fireside. When Taylor found out about the fireside she was beyond excited. It worked out well for Andy to be there early to set up since Taylor wanted front row seating. We settled for the 2nd row and really enjoyed hearing her story, although it is the cliff notes version of her book. It was fun to hear her story with her fun personality. She really is amazing. At the end everyone rushed up to meet her and Taylor timidly went up to see if she would sign her book for her. I snapped a picture to capture the moment and Taylor was beaming. Al had a way of making Taylor feel like she was the only person in the room. It was a neat experience and I'm glad we got to be a part of it!
