I saw the date this morning as I was getting my kids ready for school and panicked for a moment when I realized Christmas is one month away and I haven't bought a single thing. I think with Thanksgiving being so late this year and building a house I don't feel ready for Christmas. We haven't decorated and the thought of decorating makes me exhausted since we are really living in transition right now. Andy told me we have to at least set up the tree. The only problem is I don't know if the tree is accessible in our pile of boxes, furniture, and everything else out in the garage. Finding the ornaments could be another adventure. The other problem is my kids don't really want anything for Christmas. Taylor doesn't want anything at all. She never does. Last year all she wanted was a bell from Santa's sleigh. She got few gifts and gave them all away to her siblings as she opened them. We have it all on video. Ella wants earmuffs and Lily wants to turn 9. Then she says maybe mascara and nail polish too. Braden says he wants a wii game but doesn't know which one. sigh.
I've been thinking of lots of things I want to do this Christmas season and I hope I'm not too late to pull it off. I'm looking forward to creating a Christmas season centered on Christ.
