Happy Halloween!!

We had a fun Halloween this year!  The weather helped a bit since it wasn't freezing.  Still cold, but not freezing.  The day started at the girls' school with the Halloween Parade.  Lily had a preschool party and the kids had parties in their classes as well.  It was the first year I didn't get to go in and help with the parties.  There were so many parents that signed up before me so I decided to stay home (well, go figure out a few things with the new house without kids).  It made the day a lot less hectic but still felt a little strange to not be a part of their day.  I gutted the pumpkins while the kids were at school so when they got home all they had to do was carve their pumpkins.  That will be the new tradition in our house.  It was the most enjoyable pumpkin carving we've had yet.  Lily went to town with hers with a permanent marker.  She's quite the artist.  She got a white pumpkin this year and it was like cement so there was no carving hers.  Taylor and Braden carved theirs all by themselves this year.  Ella designed hers and I did my best to carve it out.  We left off the ears and earrings because it was a little more than my skills were capable of.  :)  We had pumpkin pancakes for dinner since I forgot to start the soup earlier in the day.  Then we were off to go trick-or-treating.  Braden went with some of his friends, I took the girls out, and Andy stayed home to pass out candy.  The girls lasted quite a while and got a lot of candy but by 7:45pm they were asking to come home.  Lily was such a trooper.  The kids were all wearing their PJs under their costumes so when they got home they took off their costumes, brushed their teeth, and went to bed.  Lily was out in 3 seconds she was so tired.  It was a fun night.  Hope you had a Happy Halloween!
(In case you were wondering... Taylor is Edith from "Despicable Me."  Ella was Belle and Lily was Ariel.  Braden had a Scream costume??  He just wanted it because the mask pumps "blood" through it.)
