{I've been terrible at taking pictures lately...}
I can't believe we're 30 weeks in. Crazy! This week was a slow week but lots of odds and ends were completed. The interior doors were delivered, the man door was installed, the cement was poured for the one step going into the house from the front door, three of the bathroom vanities are done and ready to be painted, the drywall was textured and it's done, and the soffits on the exterior were almost completed. Next week they'll start the board and batten on the exterior, the insulation will be blown into the attic. Andy was planning on moving workshop out of our garage and into his workshop at the new house but we had another break in this week which has made us question if we want his tools stored up there. So he will probably just set up shop everyday and bring it back home at night. Not ideal but we don't want to chance his stuff being stolen. We're going to get security cameras hopefully by the end of next week. I don't know how we'll keep appliances, light fixtures, and other valuable things safe as we progress without the cameras since they are breaking into a completely empty house right now. Some people. I can't believe how many dishonest people there are that are gutsy enough to break in when we are surrounded by houses occupied by homeowners.
I felt like I spent all week at flooring places (I spent over 8 hours at 4 different places) and I think I have our carpet and wood floor picked out. Andy was shocked because he thought we had already picked them out but I didn't love them as much as I wanted to so I took it upon myself to go find something different. ;) I've learned that if I don't dream about or if I have even one reservation about something, I won't like it and will regret choosing it so again, we've (or should it be I've?) changed our minds. I don't think there's one thing I haven't changed my mind on after we've chosen something for the house. Stone, faucets, flooring, front door, wall texture, ...yeah, we've changed our minds on everything! But it's a good thing because a) I found out there are issues with the wood floor that we had originally chosen with the lack of humidity we have in Utah and the manufacturer doesn't warranty the floor if it's installed in this region. Nice to know! And b) I like them way better and I can move on without losing sleep over not loving the floor choices. Phew! Andy just needs to go look at them with me and make sure he likes them too and then I'll move onto to the tile. I need to decide which one I want so I'll have enough time to change my mind...;)
Today also brought about change we weren't expecting. Andy got called as the 2nd counselor in the Stake Young Men's presidency today. Being executive secretary has been busy but since he's had the calling for almost 5 years he has been able to manage it just fine with the house stuff. He's awesome and can do anything; the unknown has just added a little stress for him. I know it will work out fine.
