Two steps forward, one step back might sum up this week nicely. The stone on the exterior was started and looks beautiful. Everything else going on, not so much. We were starting to get frustrated with the exterior guys doing the board and batten because there was no progress this week. I called the supervisor to let them know another window has been broken with the scaffolding being set up and he told me that they've found a defect in the trim so they were going to have new trim delivered. And as a caution they were going to take all the trim down and start over. Good and bad. Good that they are being proactive to do it right and bad because the last two weeks has been a total waste of time. I guess I'll focus on the good!
I spent all week vacuuming the dust from the drywall so we can be ready to paint. It was quite a job. I filled an entire garbage bag full of drywall dust and it took me almost 20 hours to get it done. I also looked at tile some more. I have an appointment set up for tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to finalize some choices. We took another step back with the carpet. When I was looking at tile the person helping me wanted to know all my flooring choices so we could choose tile that would complement it. When she saw the carpet she asked if we were forced to choose that one. It caught me off guard. Forced? She clarified with asking me if our builder was making us choose that brand. I told her no and that I had chosen it. I guess it's a new line of carpet and people have had issues with it already. Wonderful! Both our carpet and hardwood choices have major issues. I found a different carpet that I like but I'm back to searching for wood floors again. It will be a busy week with flooring and I have Braden off track again to keep me company and on a time crunch. He asks me when we'll be done before we even enter the store. The boy doesn't like shopping one bit. ;)
