I can't believe nine years ago today we were in South Carolina holding our new little bundle of joy. And what a joy Taylor has been! She is smart, caring, easy going, confident, and so much fun!! She has so much enthusiasm and zest for life! She is definitely an optimist and always full of sunshine!! I'm always amazed at all her talents whether it's art projects she comes home from school with, doing back tucks on the grass, or learning a new song on the piano...she's pretty amazing at everything! She also has a talent for expressing herself and her feelings. Taylor is a journal writer. She writes about her day every night before she goes to bed. She gets up every fast Sunday and shares a sweet, pure testimony about the gospel that is beyond her years. She has done it for almost 2 years and she always shares a different principle and how she knows it's true. Her sensitivity to the spirit and example has really touched the lives of many people in our ward and we have people constantly coming up to us to let us know how special Taylor is. So she is well known in our ward of over 600 people! She was really excited about her birthday this year. It's the first time she's gone to school on her birthday because it usually falls over spring break. She had pancakes for breakfast and we put a candle and sang to her. I dropped off a donut for her at lunch. She was completely surprised. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find her but looking across the sea of kids I saw white and I knew it was Taylor's hair. She really does stand out in a crowd! We are going to have her favorite dinner, lasagna and french bread, and chocolate cake for dessert. I bought her a zebra dream light, rubber bands for her rainbow loom, and a new outfit. Happy Birthday Taylor!!
Taylor,
Everyday I watch you and I'm amazed at what a beautiful person you are on the inside and out. You are so special and I'm so grateful you chose me to be your Mom! I love talking with you in the kitchen while we make dinner. You tell me everything that has happened at school and you don't leave out a single detail. It always makes me smile. I love that most days you would rather hang out with me than go off and play with friends. We've got quite the duet of "Heart and Soul" on the piano and you always beat me at skip-bo! You are so much fun! You make me want to be better everyday. You have such a great desire to be good and do good. People tell me that we're great parents because you and your siblings are so good. I always respond with "We have great kids!" You are great and you are going to do great things!! Always know how much I love you! My heart could burst into a million pieces because I love you so much! I'm so blessed to call you mine forever!
Love you!
Mom

So sorry we missed calling Taylor on her birthday. Allison reminded me at 8pm and I thought it might be too late to call her. I love all the pictures of her through the years. She is such a sweetheart!
