Our House: Week 33

It's April already!  March was one of the busiest months Andy has had at work so it's been hard for him to  juggle family, work, 2 big callings at church, and all the house stuff.  Burn out definitely took over during the month of March and progress has felt very slow but we had a great week this week and we are both feeling ready and excited to tackle the house and get it done.  This week was a week where everything has come together for me with all the choices I've been making for the house.  I went and picked out all the tile on Monday.  I have a few things to change around in the kids bathrooms but everything else is chosen and I couldn't be happier.  Tuesday I brought home a sample of wood flooring and put it with all the tile/carpet/paint samples and I think the heavens opened and there was singing and rejoicing.  Ok.  Maybe it was just a huge smile and sigh of relief that it all has finally started to come together... and possibly a miracle that Andy really likes all (well, most) the things I have chosen.  I think he's catching the vision I've had all along.  I have dreamt about this house for over a year and to see everything come together exactly how I pictured it was a happy day!!  I think I've had a little skip in my step which is what I needed because the paint prepping has begun!  Taping is time consuming, tedious, and relaxing all at the same time and somehow I don't mind it at all.  Andy even started priming the main level Saturday!  The stone and exterior are still moving slowly but they are promising to have it done by Wednesday.  Week 33 has been one of my favorite weeks.  It is so fun and exciting to see everything coming together.  Definitely needed this week to get us down the home stretch!  The kids are getting so anxious to move in.  We're getting so close!

Also, somehow with all the craziness in our life I sold the house we are renting.  It was never on the market but I knew our landlord was thinking about selling it.  I had a friend asking me a bunch of questions about the layout of our house so I asked her if she was wanting to rent it.  She said they were wanting to buy a house so I told her the house was for sale!  I was pretty sure it was but hadn't really confirmed it yet.  So I set up a time for her to come look at it with her husband and I showed them the house.  Well, it went under contract this past week!  It will work out because they are going to let us rent it from them as long as we need to and our landlord (who is also Andy's friend) has his house sold and he didn't have to get a realtor.  Win-Win.
