Our House: Week 35

Happy Easter!  Chris was back starting Wednesday working on installing the interior doors and trim upstairs.  Fireplace is wrapped.  Kitchen cabinets are started.  Upstairs closets and pantry shelving is in.  Rock walls outside was started.  Exterior was completed.  At least they think it is.  But we don't think they are so I'm meeting with him Monday morning to be the bearer of bad news that a lot of things aren't finished and there is some inconsistency in how they did the boarders that they'll have to redo to match everything up.  The pop out on the side eves was completely missed so you see the sheeting on that part.  They also placed the stone too high on the northwest corner of the house.  It looks fine but it's higher than it was supposed to be so we'll see how the conversation goes if I want to pick that battle as well. The exterior has been very slow and frustrating to deal with so I don't how everything will work out.  The guys who were working on it quit so it explains the sloppiness and inconsistency of how they did the trim because they were probably just trying to finish it to be good enough and not come back.  It will be interesting to see how all that turns out.  Next week we'll be working on kitchen cabinets, finishing the fireplace, railings, and downstairs doors and trim.  It's exciting to see how quickly the house is coming together.  I will also be prepping all the trim and doors for painting.  It should be a fun week!!
