We had a fantastic Christmas this year. The kids didn't want anything which seems to be the pattern the past few years. It didn't matter how many times I asked the answer was the same. "Um, I don't know?" I've said for the past 5 years I would rather go on trips than do the whole Christmas morning thing. Andy still isn't convinced but I feel each year I'm getting closer. Hopefully next year will be the year. The girls got new pajamas on Christmas Eve and I decided to get Braden a new sweatshirt since he doesn't love pajamas and lives in his sweatshirts. He was thrilled with my decision. The kids got board games from Santa. Then they got one present from us and their stockings. Simple and somehow still more than enough. Since they didn't ask for anything it was a complete surprise for each of them as they opened their presents. It was so nice to have no expectation of what they were getting/wanted. Braden got a wii game, Taylor got a fluffy chair for her room, Ella and Lily got a car and camper for their American Girl dolls. We spent the day together playing board games and enjoying our time together. This year the girls decided they wanted to buy me something. I tried as much as I could to tell them I didn't need anything but then decided if this is something they wanted to do I should let them do it. They ended up buying me a necklace with 3 little birds on a branch representing each of them. It was so sweet and they were more excited to give it to me to open than opening their own gifts. Merry Christmas!
